Hi. Totally off topic. Just had a look at the google wave presentation and realized that there are so many features that you implemented in factory nova so long before. Wondering if you guys will go back to making great software soon.
Best,

Hello Sergey,

When looking at all of our historical stats they are all being identified as "Unidentified Browser". It appears that all the history is not holding the browser details - hence thinking that the lookup on which browser it is has been lost.

I tried uploading the xml file directly but this did nothing to the historical data or new data for that matter.

Any ideas?

Regards
Rob

Hello Rob,

Can you please clarify what exactly do you mean by "this caused the entire library to be eliminated from our database"? Theoretically, if the XML library is corrupted or absent in the database, everything still works, but newly tracked browsers are not recognized. You can still see stats for previously recognized browsers though. Is this what happens to you?

If the answer is yes then probably the XML file got corrupted on download, try updating again. You can also download it to your computer first from

http://my.stuffedguys.com/sales/xml/browser.xml

And then upload manually on the Libraries page in Stuffed Tracker. This might help if direct fetching with PHP from our server fails for you.

We were one of the companies to purchase Stuffed Tracker and I am now hoping that you can provide me with some assistance.

We were unaware that Stuffed were no longer supporting ST and tried to upgrade the browsers library. This caused the entire library to be eliminated from our database. Is there any chance that we can get a copy of these files as they were before Stuffed stopped supporting the product as it's essentially made the product useless for us now.

Also how about opening up the forums for the public to support each other? It seems a little harsh to the existing user base to not support the product yourselves and then cut off the support forum where people can ask each other questions.

I really hope you guys are able to come back to life. I love ST and hope that it can live to see the light of day again.

Thanks in advance
Rob.

Dan,

Sorry I wasn't sure it was used by anyone so I intentionally let the domain name expire as I don't like to pay recurring fees for something I don't need.

Surprised that you are so interested in it that you go as far as posting offtopic comments in my blog :)

I suggest the following -- wait until the domain will be freed, if it won't be taken by anybody I'll acquire it again, if somebody will get it before me, I'll just put the same service at syncsql.stuffedguys.com.

Thanks Ludo.

I've posted the links in the Stuffed Guys Blog, in the Company News forum and also sent an email to approximately 700+ registered users of the forum who opted to receive emails from the forums administrators when they registered.

Hopefully that would make things going.

Karl, I am glad that you were able to find the right software for your needs after all.

We had problems with support not because we didn't have money to pay to a dedicated support person. The problem is that it seemed to be impossible to find such person due to the reasons I outlined in the post above.

Also, just to make this clear, the company did not end. We had to end what I call a "Phase 2" of the company. The company exists from 2001, but our Factory Nova and Stuffed Tracker 2.x-3.x were created only in Phase 2. Phase 1 was basically me alone selling very simple Stuffed Tracker 1.x written in a different language (Perl instead of PHP) and doing consulting work.

Phase 3 seems to be quite possible. Based on all the experience we've got so far and given that we will be able to solve all the problems that we've encountered (like this support challenge).
